Re: Concern about my iMac

Below is an answer to most of Steve's questions. I don't think logging in as a different user will teach me much because the problem is so random and fairly infrequent. When the computer goes to sleep, I am using the keyboard and mouse. Do you see the screen darken before the iMac sleeps on its own?...

Re: Concern about my iMac

I don't know how to get the screen shot to you since we changed servers. The preferences checked are
1. Wake for network access
2. Allow power button to put computer to sleep
3. Automatically reduce brightness....

Both computer and display are set to go to sleep after 45 minutes.

Re: Concern about my iMac

Let's see if this screen shot is loaded properly. I just dragged it into the window. I recently changed the "Put computer to sleep" setting from "Never" to its current setting. I don't know what you mean by "How many bars are displayed for the wireless connection. Yes, the password is protected. I'v...

Concern about my iMac

I purchased an iMac in January and am having problems that seem to be related. First the computer occasionally goes to sleep while I am working at it. Secondly, I am sometimes unable to awaken it when I have been away from it for awhile. I am forced to restart the computer with the power button. Thi...

Re: Requirements for streaming webcast

Thanks to all who contributed to this discussion. The live streaming worked just fine using my Macbook and an ethernet connection. The lighting on the library's screen was a little poor but they may have been the result of the LCD projector we used. The library's speakers did not project as well as ...

Re: Requirements for streaming webcast

Steve,

This is a webcast of a live event at Town Hall. Is the speed of my processor an issue with rebuffering? If so, the group could look for another computer.

Requirements for streaming webcast

A local group would like to borrow my laptop to stream a webcast in the PA Library June 1. I'm wondering what the computer requirements are for doing so. My MacBook is 5 1/2 years old, Intel Core 2 Duo Chip, 2 Ghz Processor Speed, Bus speed 667 mhz. The webcast is being broadcast through a website. ...
