Re: Upgrade Safari??

Probably you will only be able to upgrade to OSX 10.6.8, Snow Leopard. I am on an old laptop running Snow Leopard and Safari 5.1.10 and this is the highest OSX (and Safari) that I can use, according to Apple. I get messages from websites saying that I am using an old version of Internet Explorer (I ...

Re: Wireless Upgrade To iOS 9.x--DON'T DO IT!

Richard, Will the procedure, that you describe, work on my computer/iTunes since it is running 10.6.8., Snow Leopard ? I can't go any higher; it is an old (reliable) laptop that just keeps chugging along. I know I can't synch with my phone or go to the cloud so I am wondering if I can really downloa...

Re: blocked plug ins

I am also running 10.6.8 and I get a similar message when I haven't updated, or haven't installed the latest, Adobe Flash Player. If you have Adobe Flash Player, click on it's icon in your Systems Preferences and click the button to check for updates.

Re: iPhone mail deletion

I have a POP account with Olypen (my ISP) and have my Mail preferences set, like Stephen, that after downloading my mail it remains on the server for one week. My trash folder is set up to delete the messages I put in the trash after I quit the session with Mail. And, like you, I can select several ...

Re: Flashlight-Malware

Since no one has weighed in on this question, am I safe in assuming that this is not a real security problem?

Flashlight-Malware

There is a piece circulating on the internet about smartphone cyber crime and warning people to uninstall, and do a factory reset of their smartphone, if they have installed a flashlight app. The video commentator says that the top 10 flashlight apps downloaded from the Google app store installs mal...

Re: 'Virus Found' message

I experienced the same message awhile back. Like you, I just closed the window and have continued using the computer with no problems. I think it is a bogus (scam) message and if you follow the link it may deposit a piece of malware in your computer. Everything I have read about these messages says ...

Re: Yosemite-Wifi & internet issues

As a side note to this thread. I am using Snow Leopard and have Olypen as my ISP and Century Link as my phone line and I was experiencing a slowdown in my internet speeds. Within the house everything is connected via WiFi. I purchased a new modem and everything was fine for awhile then slow down sta...

Re: Very quiet on the forum lately.

Thanks. I have ridden that portion of the trail, but I had never seen a sign for the name of the creek; must be fairly new. I must admit it has bee n awhile since I have been bike riding.
