Re: Snow Leopard Finder

Thank you Stephen. That is exactly what I want to do. I created the alias Documents folder and replaced the real Documents folder in the dock with the alias and it opens the real Documents folder in a Finder window, in column view, with one click. Did the same thing for my Applications folder. Works...

Re: Snow Leopard Finder

Easy Peasy for you, but for me it didn't work. Everything tracked just as you stated, but when I opened documents again, it came up with the same black window with folder icons on it and the icon for "Open in Finder". However, it will open in column view if I am in Finder initially and click Documen...

Snow Leopard Finder

Is there a way to set the finder window to always open in column view when I select the Documents folder in the dock in Snow Leopard (10.6.8)? Presently, I have to do an extra step and select the "Open in Finder" icon in the opening window.

Re: Need Help with Microsoft Word

Thanks Jay. I am using 10.6, but my trail was a little different; Home>Applications>Microsoft Office X>Templates>My Templates and from there I just dragged it to the trash and it was gone. You gave me the clue of how to do it and what to look for in the listings. The difference may be that my MS off...

Need Help with Microsoft Word

How do I remove a template document from the templates I have created in Project Gallery>My Templates? I have created template(s) in the My Templates folder that I no longer need. I cannot find any way to remove/delete them from the folder.

Re: bing

I use Camino, which is a Mozilla browser like Firefox. In Camino>Preferences>General then in the window Default Web Browser select Camino and this sets Camino as my default browser. I suspect Firefox has a similar preference window. However, I am still using Tiger 10.4.11. I don't know if this makes...

Re: Global Mac Trojan Attack - What you need to know

I may be overworking this for my notebook that is running Tiger. 8string mentioned old systems, specifically Leopard and Tiger, but when I went to the github website it says the detection system is only for 10.5 and later. I have disabled JavaScript in Camino and both JavaScript and Java in Safari. ...

Re: Flashback Trojan: Apple's Response

I am using 10.4, Tiger and I checked my default browser, Camino, preferences and I see the item "Enable JavaScript" which I clicked off and there is a grayed out entry entitled, "Enable Java". Is there a difference between JavaScript and Java? It appears I cannot select "Enable Java" since it is gra...

Re: Global Mac Trojan Attack - What you need to know

I just now tried the link and it went through fine. I also tried Stephen's link and it worked. I don't know why it didn't work before. I had actually tried it earlier when Richard first posted it and it wouldn't work. I don't think it was Olypen (my ISP) messing up as I was online to other sites dur...

Re: Global Mac Trojan Attack - What you need to know

Richard, I can't get this link to go anywhere. I have tried selecting it directly in your message and by copying and pasting the URL into my Camino browser. It always times out and doesn't come up with anything. I am using Tiger and from the discussions I have been reading I am vulnerable because Ap...
