AirPort Firmware Update

Apple updates AirPort firmware with KRACK vulnerability fix

I found AirPort Utility open when I came home today. I had to update each device separately, though the second AirPort Express may have been faster because the patch had already been downloaded once.

Re: Combine several commands=macro - how?

As in this thread, I've suggested Keyboard Maestro for some time. Thought it has scripting capability and can hook into more powerful scripting applications, I mostly use it for simple macros. I've always found it easier to use than Automator. Thought I have several macros that combine several steps...

Re: Apple Update Server

That's an idea. At least I can get iTunes separately from High Sierra 10.13.2. FWIW, I just restarted my wife's iMac after it finally finished the download in App Store. Then I started the download again on my iMac and it failed after only a few minutes. Nothing else seems to have any particular pro...

Re: Apple Update Server

I think I figured this out. We have two iMacs and on my wife's App Store was set to automatically download updates, while mine was not set to automatically download updates. So I think her iMac was using up much of the bandwidth, causing my iMac to lose the connection. I still don't know why App Sto...

Amazon Prime Video

Amazon Prime Video has come to Apple TV as an app. I found the setup very easy: you can choose to display a short code on screen (I took a photo with my iPhone) then log in to your Amazon account on your Mac and type the code in. The app shows a Watchlist, much the same as Netflix or Filmstruck, and...

Re: Hughesnet

In the past, at least, the issues with satellite are a significant delay and a huge antenna.

Barred Owl Crashes into Apple Store

A Barred Owl apparently hit one of the glass walls in the Portland Apple Store. It's OK now, thanks to the local Audubon's Wildlife Care Center. http://appleinsider.com/articles/17/12/01/apple-retail-workers-help-save-barred-owl-that-flew-into-portland-store-window We see Barred Owls occasionally in...

iOS 11.2

iOS 11.2, available today, fixes a number of minor issues, adds a couple of "live" wallpapers and enables user-to-user ApplePay. Apparently some users of iOS 11.1 were affected by a Notifications bug caused by notifications generated by apps on the iPhone after 12:15 a.m. local time Dec. 2. If you'r...
