Re: Photo apps for iPhone

Stephen, don't know if you noticed this, but if you click in the panorama photo you have (above) and then hold down the mouse and drag outside of the picture, you see thumbnails of the four or five frames incorporated into the big picture. Pretty cool software. You mean within the browser? I'm usin...

I had missed that too. But I have to say it's a little strange that you can't find installed updates in Software Updates the app, but only in Software Update the Preference Pane.

Re: simple text

What you want is TextEdit, the OSX successor to SimpleText. It opens all old plain-text documents and many others. It even does a better job of opening really old Microsoft Word documents than Microsoft Word does. yourharddrive > Applications > TextEdit.app It's much more powerful and feature-rich t...

Brouhaha about iPhone Location File

In case you live on Mars (or don't have, or care a whit about, iPhone), Apple's taken it on the chin recently. The facts: Some "researchers" found a file on some iPhones. Re: Time Machine

Bob, I would strongly recommend that you get Dave Hannon (or someone) to get this fixed for you. I'm pretty sure Rick is on the right track. Multiple iPhoto libraries are OK for SuperPowerUsers, but not for us mortals. I'm sure you can get them all coalesced into the default iPhoto Library location,...

Re: Apple TV

But at 7 times the price, isn't the mini in a whole 'nother category? BTW, how much can an iPhone interact with an ATV? I know the Remote app controls ATV, but can that work if the ATV is headless? [Later addition: According to one poster on Macintouch, yes, the Remote app works fine with the ATV no...

Re: Time Machine

First thing is I can't figure out how you get images of the desktop while in TM. I have to take a picture of my screen with my digital camera, "developed' it and then capture it again with snapNdrag. and so on... I used SnapzProX to make a movie as I opened Time Machine. I couldn't get the usual sc...
