Re: Mojave Installation

Regarding Keyboard Maestro: I had to follow the instructions here https://forum.keyboardmaestro.com/t/ready-for-mojave/11637 which suggest that you remove KM and KM Engine from System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Accessibility, then add the apps to the System Preferences list again. (Be sure t...

Re: Mojave... So Far, So Good

I had the same experience with the Mojave download and install on my 5K iMac. (My other two Macs are too old.) I haven't run into any issues yet. I think the light mode may be a tad lighter than in High Sierra, but it's a bit hard to tell because both adjust to ambient light by way of the iSight cam...

Re: iOS 12.1 beta

BTW, if you're participating in the beta program, there's a new version of 12.1 beta that works on the new iPhones.

I just used this feature for the first time, and it works like a charm.

iPhone XS Arrives

I had an easier time this year than last year following Apple's directions to transfer data. Last year I made the mistake of starting at Quick Start, but then if you want to restore from an encrypted iTunes backup (which has all your data and passwords), you just have to erase the iPhone and start o...

Re: Type new iPhone names

On the iPhone XS itself, and in iTunes, Apple just uses an ordinary uppercase S, with no space between the X and the S. The X is a Roman Numeral, but the S is English. There's debate about what the S stands for, except for "speed" in the earliest S models.

Type new iPhone names

If you want to type the new iPhone names as shown in the Apple ads, you can use SQUARED LATIN CAPITAL LETTER S Unicode U+1F142 UTF-8 F0 9F 85 82 I added this to my list of Apple-specific symbols in Keyboard Maestro, and to my favorites in Character Viewer. Of course, Apple's using a rounded rectangle!
