Re: Annoying glitches in Yosemite

Thanks Stephen and Jay for these most interesting websites. I will have to laboriously and time-consumingly wade through all of that information. You know... that stuff about conflicting keychains, iCloud preferences, etc. etc. etc. etc. is all too complicated, counter intuitive, and clumsy. It is a...

Re: Annoying glitches in Yosemite

Well yes... I log into websites on both my Mac and my iPhone. But the whole idea of an iCloud password or the iCloud's password in the Keychain are utterly baffling to me. Is there a troubleshooting procedure?

Re: Annoying glitches in Yosemite

Jay, thanks for that very interesting Apple Support link. I read all the way through it and it gave me some ideas. But note that those posts all concerned people that were having trouble getting or sending mail through iCloud. I don't use and have no interest in mail through iCloud and my Olypen e-m...

Re: Annoying glitches in Yosemite

Stonefly@olypen.com is the name of my Apple ID. I assume that's why it's in that "iCloud cannot connect" box.

Re: Annoying glitches in Yosemite

Going back to my previous issue with needing to login to every website each time I visit.... I've deleted cookies and reset Safari a number of times already and this seems to have no effect. I think (need to double check) that Firefox and Chrome are also behaving the same way.... requiring a new log...

Re: Annoying glitches in Yosemite

Yes, you can simply dismiss that box by clicking "Later" and do whatever you want to do. Why do you ask? I've also tried going to iCloud.com on the web, entering my password and looking at the settings. Everything is in order there. I've tried logging in and out of iCloud.com on the web to see if an...

Re: DiskWarrior 5

I got mine also and discovered that you can quickly and easily copy the app to your own computer (which replaces, without asking, the older version 4). In that configuration (which is how I generally use it) you can connect problem computers or hard drives to your principal computer in Target Disk M...

Re: Annoying glitches in Yosemite

Here's another constant nagging annoyance since my Yosemite upgrade. I get this screen message at odd intervals.... never predictably. It just pops up. Not every day. Just every few days and for no apparent reason. I have logged in an out of iCloud multiple times, checked all my settings, opened it ...

Re: Annoying glitches in Yosemite

No change in the situation with signing in to websites. Each time I access a site, I must re-enter my name and password despite this having always worked perfectly for more than 10 years up until now. When I come to the SMUG Forum, for example, I see the "User Name" and "Password" spaces blank and w...
