Re: Help - Google has decided I reside in Denmark

So is this a language preference or an actual residence location issue? I see that Jay's comment is directed to changing one's preferred language. I was wondering if the actual geographic location was the issue.... as for example.... in the related issue of "Zones" where CD's and DVD's can be played?

Re: Photos

Stephen, you are a serious photographer. What is your current thought on a stable, full-featured photo app that can handle data base issues and that would be a reliable purchase for the long run? This Photos app is a pathetic joke.

Re: Photos

My observation is that you CANNOT drag and/or drop photos from Photos onto the Desktop nor onto any other app. You have to "Export" them which is a PAIN in the rear. This is one of about 10000 problems that I have with this new, lame software. VERY disappointed!!!

Re: 'Virus Found' message

I don't know anything about the specific message you saw nor the specific attack you just received.... but there have not been any viable, active, Mac viruses in the wild for many many years. Moreover, no one on any of the many Mac websites has reported any such thing for many years. I would say you...

Re: What are your thoughts on Apple Watch?

I note that the photos of the AppleWatch always show its very many interesting faces. And to some extent the lively variety of bands. But if you look at the actual watch from the side, you'll note that it's pretty "fat" ... it's thick. I will bet that this thing is not as dainty or as a unobtrusive ...

Re: Microsoft Office for Mac 2015 - Free Preview

I would think an Mac Old-Timers night could be an interesting meeting or half-meeting. But the problem is that it would all fall on Jay. Jay, what do you think about that? I recall that at some previous meeting (or was it the Sequim Tech Fair?) you came and set up a number of your old machines. One ...

Re: Microsoft Office for Mac 2015 - Free Preview

Jay, good to know that someone in the community is up to date. Actually, I had, up until very recently, every version of Word ever produced back to v 1.0 on floppies. A few years ago, I threw out all the old floppies so those are gone now, sad to say. BUT... BUT.... for those of you in need, you'll ...

Re: Microsoft Office for Mac 2015 - Free Preview

No.... the difference might be caused by whether I have the particular windows in question set to show file preview versus no preview. Will work on clarifying that. With respect to opening old files. Word can open files going back very far.... but not all the way back in time. Some of the somewhat o...
