Re: iTunes 10.3: Browse iBooks

Below is a screenshot of the iTunes 10.3 "Purchased" screen. This particular list shows the tracks that have been purchased using my Apple ID, but are not currently in my iMac's library ... along with the option to download them. Some of these music items were purchased from my wife's iMac and other...

Re: I should ask a third grader, right?

A few more answers: Facetime only works when both parties are using either a Mac, and iPhone, or an iPod Touch. So, for example, if one of the parties is using a PC, then Skype would be the better bet. Skype for iPhone can be downloaded for free from the iTunes Store. Both parties will also need a f...

Re: iCloud

Now, what I'm being presented with is a service that makes sure that when I listen to music (or, presumably, iTunes U lectures, etc.) I'm paying for download time from AT&T or Verizon. Remember that streaming means that you're downloading constantly. As far as I understand the iCloud service, you w...

MobileMe and the Transition to iCloud

What's happening to MobileMe? Effective June 6, 2011, if you had an active MobileMe account, your service has been automatically extended through June 30, 2012, at no additional charge. After this, the MobileMe service will no longer be available. What will happen to the content I have on MobileMe?...

Re: iPad: Log in?

I think the most straight-forward approach would be for you to set up an Apple ID in her name. In that way apps can be purchased from the iTunes Store and books from the iBooks Store without a problem. Her Apple ID will also be needed to update all the apps on that device. You, as well as other rela...

Review of the MicroShell Folio iPad2 Case (from Marware)

I recently got a MicroShell Folio iPad2 Case , and so far I am quite pleased. I got the black one, but the Folio also comes in white and silver for the same price of $69.99. The top of the MicroShell Folio has the same look, feel, and convenience of Apple's SmartCover, including a "soft magnet" that...

I had never even heard about "File Quarantine" in Snow Leopard.

There is a well written article about File Quarantine and the Security Update here .

Stephen Hart wrote:I believe I read that Apple TV is supposed to wake a sleeping Mac to get shared iTunes content. That doesn't seem to happen for us. Any SMUG clues?
You will need to check the checkbox in the Energy Saver pane of System Prefs on your Mac labeled "Wake for Network Access". (see screenshot)

Re: Flat-Screen TV as Monitor

I have a DVI adapter for the MacBook Pro (see below). Do I need an HDMI adapter? Will the TV come with cables long enough for connecting to the MacBook? I have been using the same DVI adapter, but am using it with a DVI to HDMI cable. I would bet that most current HDTVs come without DVI in ports. I...

Re: Sequim Sunrise Rotary Club donates iPads

It would be great if someone could get this content to the Sequim Gazette.

Maybe someone could even get some photos of the iPads in use by the students.
