Re: spacing of print

This is definitely not an Apple issue. The bad spacing is due to either bad website design, or a setting in your browser ... or both. In the Advanced pane of Safari Preferences, for example, it is possible to set a minimum font size. (first screenshot) Some websites may be designed to put text in a ...

iPhone5 Setup

Well, UPS delivered my iPhone5 fifteen minutes ago and is now in the process of copying content from the iPhone4 iTunes backup. The setup process was surprisingly simple, and truthfully the most difficult part of the whole process was getting the cellophane wrapper off of the box. I didn't even have...

Re: How can I tell if I have Java 7?

Kirsten, If you double-click on that Java Preferences app, you will see what version of Java is being used by your system. (see screenshot) Java 7 (actually 1.7) is only for use by Java developers, and would have to be deliberately downloaded from a developer's website ... so I would seriously doubt...

Re: Safari Collections versus Bookmarks

The difference is in how the individual bookmarks are accessed. Items in the Collections section of the bookmarks sidebar are to be accessed easily, either by using a menu, or in the case of the Bookmarks Bar by using a "ribbon" at the top of a Safari window. Items in the Bookmarks section, on the o...

Re: Am I getting bootable back-up?

When I checked on some contents on my external back-up drive, I thought it looked slightly different. The desktop items were in a folder and I didn't remember seeing them in a folder before. Try comparing a Finder window of your primary drive and one of your SuperDuper! backup (see screenshot). The...

Re: Am I getting bootable back-up?

Kirsten,

The easiest way for you to confirm that you indeed have a bootable backup is to go to System Prefs and select the Startup Disk pane.

All of your bootable volumes should show up there ... as long as your external drive is powered up and mounted. (see screenshot)
