Re: Mountain Lion Upgrade Experiences

The notice on install stated that I could mark some email senders as VIP and those notices would stand out. I have not been able to find that site or capability. It is a great idea and I hope that I can get it to work. Any ideas on accomplishing this task would be appreciated. Another way of adding...

Re: Contact List

Mary, Here is one thing to try that can't hurt anything. It is the old trick of turning something off and then turning it back on again. Try turning iCloud Contact syncing off, and then turn it back on again. The steps are below. When finished, log back onto iCloud.com and see if the list of contact...

Re: Automatic Log In to SMUG Bulletin Board

Just a side note:

A change has been made to the default expiration time, which is the number of seconds until you get automatically logged off. (see screenshot)

Can you figure how long that is in minutes, hours, or days?

Re: Sign in To Use THIS Computer for Automatic Downloads

Kirsten, Just to be clear, your Apple ID does not change if/when you get a new e-mail address. 1. Do you use more than one Apple ID in your household? Yes or No 2. Can you successfully login to your iTunes account? Yes or No 3. If yes to #2, go to the Store menu in iTunes and select Sign Out. (see s...

So I have to assume that it's not on or being shared throught iTunes. I have all the other places turned on and I am not s...

Re: Contact List

Three steps. 1. Be sure you are not also syncing your Contact List using iTunes. That is, be sure that the check box in the Info section of your iPad configuration is NOT checked. (see first screenshot) 2. In the iCloud section of System Prefs on your Mac, turn on syncing of Contacts (see second scr...

Re: Find my iPhone

I wish it would have the option to ring the phone after it finds the phone. That option is there. Just Click on the small info button. The resulting dialog box gives you the option to sound a chime on the phone. (see screenshot) Or you could simply dial your iPhone's number from a different phone. ;)

Re: How do I resize a photo?

My favorite is EasyCrop from Yellow Mug Software. http://www.yellowmug.com/easycrop/ In addition to resizing, EasyCrop also handles cropping, straightening, rotating, reflecting, bordering, as well as screen capturing. Here are the basic steps (see screenshot): 1. Drag your photo from the Desktop (o...

Re: Time Machine backups missing

What version of iPhoto are you now using? If you are trying to retrieve a deleted photo, you will probably be able to find it in iPhoto's own Trash (see screenshot). Once you find the photo(s) you want back, just drag the thumbnail(s) up to the Photos section of the sidebar. My guess is that the upg...
