However, it may turn out to seem socially a little weird to look intently at your iPhone when buying a Latte instead of discretely touching the Home button! I would hope that looking at your iPhone "casually" rather than "intently" would work to unlock your iPhone X. I will just have to buy one to ...

Bob,

This worked fine for me on my iPad Air 2 running iOS 11.0.3. (see screenshots). The only thing I can think of regarding a possible difference is that I have an IMAP Olypen account, and you may have a POP account. In that case, you may have to make the new mailbox on your Mac.

I just discovered that this works for me because some time in the past I must have turned on Dictation in System Preferences > Keyboard. Sorry about that omission!

Split View

If you are using High Sierra, have you tried using Split View?

It works great, for example, having both Photos and Mail to work with at the same time. First, launch both apps (making sure that neither are in full screen mode) and then follow the steps below.
