Re: Strange New Error Message

Something else I just noticed since creating a new account on my MacBook... a couple of problems in Photos have disappeared. It was easy to work around these problems with a mouse click or two so I didn't think much of it. And Safari had started acting stupid but not stupid enough to get worked up o...

Re: Strange New Error Message

I don't know why I didn't think of this before. I've done nothing with this problem because the only alternative I could think of was to reformat the hard drive and start from scratch. That would mean reloading the MacOS as well as all my programs. The time involved was just too much. But last nigh...

Re: 1 Password

I've used 1Password for at least 10 years now and I wouldn't want to try computing without it. Yes, I put in my banking passwords as well as all my credit card information. All of that and everything else in 1Password is encrypted. I also record my drivers license, passport information, and software...

Re: Change From .pages To .doc En Masse

I'm really impressed with the iWork Converter program. This morning I identified 168 Pages documents I wanted reformatted as Word documents. I had already created a new folder for the conversions and told iWork Converter to drop the new files into the new folder. I just drag-and-droppped the Pages f...

Re: Change From .pages To .doc En Masse

One comment about CloudConvert which was recommended in this thread. Before I took a chance with the standalone program iWork Converter I went to the CloudConvert website and signed up for the "free" account that would let me convert a few files each day. I just wanted to see how it worked. After si...

Re: Change From .pages To .doc En Masse

I decided to tell my MacOS security to let iWork Converter run on my Mac. It works perfectly. What seems to happen is I'll select an iWork file (Pages, Numbers, or Keynote) and drag it to an area within Converter. Then Converter opens the appropriate iWork program, does the conversion to the format ...

Re: Change From .pages To .doc En Masse

Here's a page mentioning http://tyorex.com/iWorkConverter/, and an Automator workflow, but it's rather old. https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/124263/batch-convert-pages-files-to-doc/124300#124300 I've never had much luck with Automator. I need to work with it to find out its idiosyncrocies.

Re: Change From .pages To .doc En Masse

So I downloaded the trial program and ran the .dmg but my Mac told me it wouldn't open the program because it didn't have a legitimate certificate. In systems Preferences under Security I have selected "App Store and identified developers" as my option for opening programs. It seems this program doe...

Re: Change From .pages To .doc En Masse

I received an email from tech support saying that those iWork version numbers were minimums and newer iWork versions were supported. The techie who emailed me said he understood the confusion and would update their website to clarify what I (and I net others) found ambiguous at best. I just checked ...
