Re: Annoying desktop message

For what it's worth, I've had no problems with SuperDuper and Sierra but out of curiosity I opened SuperDuper and immediately received a message telling me that there was a new version that would work with Sierra. I installed it and everything is OK. However, I wasn't having problems with SuperDuper...

New Photos/Memories

After installing Sierra I've been playing with Photos/Memories. I was hoping that after setting up a Memory I could load it to the I'Net using iCloud Photo Sharing but all I'm getting is the old sharing album not the new Memories. Memories look good esthetically but the old albums are really ugly un...

Re: Safari v10.0

And websites that just wouldn't run video in the old Safari necessitating my flipping over to Chrome will now display video in the new Safari. This is most excellent. Did you try New York Times video? I've got another half hour to wait for Sierra (after an all-night download). I didn't update Safar...

Re: Sierra Installation

Yup, no problems here either with the download, install, and the use of installed programs. But the download is 4.6GB is size so depending on the speed of your I'Net connection it might be easier letting it download overnight and then do the install the following morning.

Safari v10.0

I haven't downloaded the new macOS yet (Sierra) but I did download the new version of Safari (v10.0) which is recommended for users of macOS El Capitan (v10.11.x). The new Safari is suppose to have some security updates as well as run videos in HTML5 whenever possible avoiding Flash and all it's pro...

Bob Wiswell wrote:Stephen, tell us more. I have not downloaded iOS 10 yet. But, how do you open a locked screen if 'slide to unlock" is not there? I have not read anything about this to date.
I'm not Stephen.

Just tap the HOME button.

Re: iPad Stuck

Hold down the Home button and the screen lock button at the same time. (The screen lock button is sometimes called on/off.) This forces the iPad to restart, just as if you'd used the slide to power off button. This is what's called a hard boot for an iPad. You'll need to hold both buttons simultane...

I tried that but it doesn't cause the problem the OP has. I created a new folder on the desktop labelled Desktop and when I opened it it was empty as it should have been even though I keep several files on my desktop for easy access.

Re: Desktop folder issue

Easier than that is to RIGHT CLICK on the desktop and a menu will pop up with an option to create a new folder. LEFT CLICK that option and you're done.
