Thanks Bob and Richard. I will try both suggestions, and no wrath, I did turn the camera on, although I have shot some photos in the past with out film in the camera.

My card reader works on other computers and my camera card is fine in the camera, I connected my camera and it would not import either. Ed, if it is a spreadsheet use Numbers, if document use pages. Go to file and open the file from these apps. You can also use docX converter, a third party app for Panergy.

Richard. we did not check the trash, afterwards I couldn't believe nether of us checked the trash, maybe the files were there in iPhoto. Irma had saved the files she wanted on a flash drive.
I did learn a few things from this episode.
I thank all of you active gurus for helping so quickly.

Stephen, iPhoto was blank and neither one of us checked the trash. Irma had saved all the important files and she thanks you, she is back in business, on her own computer.

I was wrong, I should have asked Irma first, this has been her computer. We do have both original install disks.
