Re: Add Blockers

Thanks, Steve. OS 10.13 sounds interesting, what is the down side of upgrading? I am currently running OS X 10.10.1 on a 2009 iMac.

Add Blockers

I disabled an add blocker to watch a video some time back, and can't find where it is to re-enable it. Can anyone tell me where to find it? What is known about 'Add Blocker Plus'? Does it work on Mac, is it safe, and is there any reason to use it instead for what is already installed (if that isn't ...

Slow iMac, credit card compromised; Virus?

We have noticed our 2009 iMac running Yosemite performing significantly slower over the last few months; then last week, there was unauthorized use of my credit card. I understand that a 'Repair Drive' process through the 'Disk Utility' app. is in order but I have a few questions: 1- Is there a like...

Re: Memory upgrade for iMac

Thank you all, for your help and advice with my project. I got the 2x 4 G Crucial memory from Amazon at a significant price reduction after determining that it was the same as that offered by Crucial. Speed was rated at 1066 MHz for existing and new. Installed and working well, with significant perf...

Memory upgrade for iMac

I'm upgrading ram on my late 2009 21.5 in iMac (mod.10,1). It currently has 4G (2x 2G and two empty slots), and I wish to go to at least 8G. What are the configuration requirements for the ram upgrade? Can I add 2x 4G and leave the 2x 2G, or do all of the memory sticks need to be of the same value. ...

Re: Upgrading from NeoOffice and iPhoto

Thank you, Steve for your advice; I did check system requirements before I installed Yosemite, and my system is ok. However, I did not back up photos. The resident iPhoto is inoperative, so I need to upgrade to the new version for Yosemite to get at the photos. Should I (can I)reinstall SnowLeopard,...

Upgrading from NeoOffice and iPhoto

Upgrading NeoOffice: I have recently upgraded to Yosemite from Snow Leopard, and of course now need to upgrade a number of applications. One of these is my word processor/ spreadsheet; I want to go from NeoOffice to MS Office Home (after using NO for a couple of years, I want to go back to MS). I ha...
