Re: I want my own cloud!

Thanks! I thought that might be the solution, but I wasn't sure. I was afraid that if I did it, that I might lose some of my ongoing games that are underway.

I want my own cloud!

I recently got a new MacBook Air, and the iCloud Account details show my Apple ID as an @icloud.com account. At about the same time, my husband got a new iPad, and I inherited his old one (the original iPad 1.) We would like our clouds to be totally separate. It seems that to do this, I should be ab...

Erasing hard drive?

I recently got a MacBook Air and want to pass on my old MacBook Pro to a friend (one who has never touched any computer in her life.) iPad transfer

My husband just got a new iPad (retina display) for Christmas, and he's trying to figure out how to transfer everything from his old iPad 1 to the new iPad. He set up the new one as a "new iPad", and now the information he gets tells him that before he can proceed, he must upgrade the system softwar...

Re: Migration Assistant

Even though it will be slow, I think wireless might be the simplest choice for me. My question about Ethernet is pretty basic. If both of my laptops are connected to our network wirelessly, is this an Ethernet connection? I thought that Ethernet required a cable. And if it will be a slow transfer, d...

Migration Assistant

Just got a new MacBook Air, and am trying to transfer all the stuff from my old MacBook Pro. The directions for the old computer say "Make sure you are connected to the same network using Ethernet." How do I do that? Any other suggestions on this process?

Re: Printer Recommendation please

Thanks so much for the advice. With your suggestions and some online reviews, I ordered an all in one printer that should work out fine.

Re: Printer Recommendation please

The vast majority of our printing is b&W, with a few pictures (like in our Christmas letter) once in awhile. Any suggestions on a a specific inkjet printer with individual cartridges that might not use as much ink as others (or maybe has larger cartridges that hold more?
