Possible scam phone call from "Apple Support".

Well, I've been treating it as a scam, anyway. A computerized voice claiming to be "Molly" has called on our landline three times today claiming to be from Apple Support, informing us of an iCloud breach. She suggests we call a number for further information (I didn't write it down, but it began wit...

Re: I need to make space on my computer...

Jay, Beautimous! Just what I was looking for. Can items, once in the external drive, still be edited or deleted and viewed in Photo? And are all videos included in this same Photo Library? Is there a way to move videos separately? [I think I have a bug in this iPad. When I typed "same library" I loo...

Re: I need to make space on my computer...

Thanks for the ideas on "backup", but maybe I didn't explain my thoughts quite right. A few years ago a met a fellow who used a separate hard drive for all his photos. After I wrote this inquiry to the forum I recalled that he used to download his pictures right from his camera, then access them on ...

I need to make space on my computer...

I have nearly met my capacity for storage with only a little over 19gb left. I may be able to expand my SS drive capacity but I do have a 1TB Seagate hard drive, as yet unused. However, I have an innate fear of losing data. Many years ago when home with the flu, I decided to clean up my photos and e...

Re: Why does "accountsd wants to use 'login' keychain"?

Thanks for the article.

I looked through some Poirot and Marples books and found no "keychain" mysteries... LOL :0)

And I guess the simple answer to my riding question is , "No". ;0)

My error, sorry. The mind is a terrible thing...

Re: Why does "accountsd wants to use 'login' keychain"?

Thanks Stephen! I will explore the web of intrigue surrounding the "keychain". Maybe Poirot or Marples has an idea... As for the barrage of keychain access requests? I simply shut off the computer and rebooted it and the nagging requests for keychain access, so far, have not returned. (Of course, no...

What's the recommended operating temperature range for a MBP

I just bought a new app called "System Pal", as my old Temperature Monitor app is no longer working. The new app is telling me it is now 114°F and the fans are at zero rpm. A few minutes ago it was 120°F with fans at ~1,200 rpm, though I could not hear them at all. What's the best range? I can set a...

Re: AirPods

Sounds like they'd work great while on my rowing erg! I hate the cords of ear buds as I am always trying to get into a pocket or my dog/cat/pet teradactyl plays with them. A little pricey for me right now. Next ship!

Why does "accountsd wants to use 'login' keychain"?

A couple of days ago I had to purchase "Numbers" for my new, lightly used 2015 MacBook Pro. (I bought it several months ago and like the 13" size a lot better than my earlier 15''). Apparently, the former owner may have downloaded the free iWorks version but I was not privy to them upon buying his c...

Re: What is this?

I just deleted the cookie for"doto.mi.com" in Safari preferences. When I reconnected to marinetraffic.com the alert immediately reappeared. That site seems to be the trigger site this week as the "alert" has appeared many times before, unrelated to the marine site. I should add that when the "alert"...
