iTunes' window green button

By clicking in iTunes on the window's green button I could get just a little rectangle to show me what was playing. (see image*) That was before I performed the last update of iTunes to 11.0 Now the green button just enlarges same as green button does on other windows. Can I get my little rectangle ...

Re: Connect Mac Book Pro to printer

Thank you, Stephen and Jay,

I will pass these thoughts on to my friend.
We'll have a look at System Preferences>Print and Scan
and see what we see.
If that doesn't magically show an easy solution, we could move to the idea of second printer as plan B.

I so appreciate the input!

Connect Mac Book Pro to printer

I am helping a friend with simple Mac issues. A question has come up regarding printer, and I'm thinking the answer would be simple, but I don't have the answer. She has a MacBook Pro. Her husband has a PC with a printer connected. She would like to have her MacBook Pro able to use the same printer ...

Re: iTunes transfer from iMac

I just discovered that my last reply didn't post... Sorry... So I repeat - not verbatim - cannot remember just how I phrased it: I indicated that it worked like a charm. I located an earlier iTunes file, using Stephen's method. I have music for my trip and it is plenty good enough for now. :D Thanks...

Re: Where is data stored?

Thank you, Stephen, I just made sure I had a handle on my process using your info - and I seem to so I am very pleased having reached this point. I know that Richard is right!!! However, I am wanting to function right now with existing means and not adding any more new tools than I have to. I...

Re: Where is data stored?

Thank you, Richard - I'll consider that - I am sure it is a good suggestion...

But let's assume for now that I do not want to use iCloud.

Where is the data stored for those applications so I can copy the data to a flash drive if I want?

iTunes transfer from iMac

I mentioned in another post that I had sucessfully (using Migration Assistant) transferred everything from iMac to Mac Book Air. Well, that wasn't entirely accurate. iTunes is a problem. On my iMac I have some apps acquired through my iPad (which I thought I was going to use for my trip until I real...

Where is data stored?

I have sucessfully transferred data from iMac to Mac Book Air so I can travel next month and have working material along (mostly genealogy). I am quite sure I know how to deal with getting relevant folders updated on iMac from MacBook Air once I return from my trip. However, I'd like to also be able...

Re: Safari Collections versus Bookmarks

Thank you Ray and Stephen, I think I am getting a clearer picture of what I want to do. First of all, 8 of the 9 folders shown under "Bookmarks" were not even created/selected by me. They just were there = default and I do not ever use them. I see the wisdom as shown by Stephen of keeping certain UR...

Re: Do Dashboard widgets use Java?

Stephen, Thank you again for this wonderful overview to understand Java versions. And your caution re widgets is well taken - I don't use many, just basically four of them: a converter, weather, world clock, dictionary, which I have used for a very long time. On the other hand I use them frequently ...
