iMAC address book

Repeatedly I find that when I go and edit an email address in my Address Book, there is a lingering old address that comes up when I want to address a new email. For example, I click New Message in the mail program and type in the name. The name comes up with the new email address, but one or two ol...

Re: iPod Shuffle 2nd Generation...copying question

Okay...in the process of figuring it out, I came across the feature "Home Sharing" in iTunes. I signed up with the iStore, and after setting up preferences to "share entire library", I solved the problem. Voila! That little "Home Sharing" feature is a great thing to know about. You can share up to f...

Re: iPod Shuffle 2nd Generation...copying question

Thanks, Stephen. I was using the feature "sync only checked songs", so it did transfer most of the songs, but there were a few that didn't transfer. I'm still baffled, but I went into "my account" at the iTunes Store and took a look at "Manage Devices" It says that a specific computer can be associa...

iPod Shuffle 2nd Generation...copying question

I have my iPod connected and have selected the tunes I want to transfer. I click autofill and it appeared to sync. When I look at the list of songs on the iPod, some are missing. I returned to "Music" in the iTunes library, and according to the Shuffle 2 handbook, it says I can click and drag indivi...

Re: FINDING a PHOTO through iPhoto

Thank you, Stephen. It was definitely a case of forgetting to do a Save As. I have located the image. Again, thank you.

FINDING a PHOTO through iPhoto

I had iPhoto set up to edit photos through Photoshop. Did the editing, went to save it and now I don't know how to access the photo. I renamed it (using save as), so I know the name of the photo. When I did a global search on my Mac, it shows it located in this progression: pictures -- photo library...

ZIPPED FILES, Open Office and Powerpoint

A couple of questions: Last year my daughter had to download Powerpoint files to my "older" Macbook (OSX 10.4.11) for one of her classes at Peninsula College. That MAC didn't have a compatible Microsoft Word suite to open the Powerpoint files, so you suggested using Open Office. It worked fine. My d...

Re: ZeoBIT / MacKeeper

Thanks Stephen. I am running OS 10.6.8. The stuck return key is something that started maybe a couple of months ago and was limited to Word. Now it's showing up in my email program. Never used to be there. Drives me nuts. Glad to hear that you don't restart your MAC very often. When I had my graphic...

Re: ZeoBIT / MacKeeper

Quick question. Do you power down your MAC every night? I was told years ago to keep it running -- it's better not to shut it down except for rebooting every couple of days. What's your take on that? And how often to you update Microsoft Word -- on a daily basis or weekly? Thanks.
