Re: iOS 9.0.2 on iPad Air 2 problem, help, help

I have no idea if it is proper to reply to your own email, but here goes: My first mistake was in activating "Voice Over" which reads you everything you touch on the screen which is great if you are blind (which I Only am after a few gins). I went to MacTraders and the lady there fixed the problem i...

iOS 9.0.2 on iPad Air 2 problem, help, help

I updated my iPad Air 2 yesterday to 9.0.2. In trying to get the "reader" to work, I unintentionally activated Voice Over, now the iPad is locked up. It will not accept any inputs from the screen unless they are double-tapped, and even then will not accept my Pass Code. So I seem to have a very expe...

Re: Troubles with Time Machine

Thank you Stephen and Rick. Your answers were essentially what I expected. I guess I do not know why I need to keep backups all the way back to 2011, but if I do, I do. Someone could make a mint it he/she developed an app that would let a user prune the backups without resorting to using the TERMINA...

Troubles with Time Machine

Troubles with Time Machine I have been backing up my Mac forever or as Time Machine recorded since 2011. The back up keeps getting bigger and bigger without any identifiable benefit. As far as I am concerned, I would happily delete all backups prior to, say, January 1, 2014 but I cannot find any sim...

OS X 10.4 Tiger installation disks needed

I traded my G4 Mac Mini another SMUG member and in order to get it ready, I "scrubbed" the hard drive with Disk Utility to erase any personal information that might be there. To my chagrin, the only disks I was given when I bought the G4 Mini used will not install. One is only an update disk and the...

Speech Recognition Software

I am looking for speech recognition software for the Mac. I have read a number of reviews of Dragon Dictate 2.5 and they seem to be mixed with a bias towards "not so good". Do any of you have any experience with any speech recognition software? I know that some pretty simple SR commands are availabl...
