app won't open or quit
An app I use regularly will not open or quit today. I have run First Aid - no issues. I have searched for a plist but cannot find one for the app. I have attempted to restart the computer but it will not do so because the app will not quit. I have attempted to "Force Quit" the app several times. It ...

Re: Help!! My iMac screen is dark!!!
I was in the kitchen and heard the computer restart - more than an hour after I tried to restart it. Apple said it restarted because of a problem, which Apple label "Sleep wake failure." The report from Apple was too lengthy and technical to ask anyone to review. So, now my concern is what would cau...

Help!! My iMac screen is dark!!!
I've been writing a report today on my iMac running Yosemite. I left the computer to take a break. When I returned the screen was dark and only the cursor was visible. I tried to restart the computer, but it does not respond to the power button. I can move the cursor, but that's all. I'm grateful fo...

using iPhoto in Yosemite
I have recently installed Yosemite and wish to continue using iPhoto. My iPhoto app is 9.6.1. When I attempt to open the program I get this message. "To open, iPhoto needs a photo library....Select a library from the list. The same library will be used the next time you open iPhoto." Two identical l...

Can I still upgrade to Yosemite?
Greetings,
I am still using 10.7 on both of my computers. I would like to upgrade to Yosemite rather than El Capitan. Is that possible? I cannot find a way to do that on Apple's website.
Many thanks,
Anne Murray

Re: cannot cancel command to copy
Thanks, Richard. I started force quit of the finder and got frightened when it said "continue installation." So, I aborted and restarted the computer and all seems to be fine.

cannot cancel command to copy
I started to copy large photo files from a thumb drive to my hard drive. About one third the way through I decided that I did not want to do that. I clicked the "x" in the copy window but cannot cancel the original command. The copy window has been reading "stopping" for many minutes. I cannot resta...

Re: Printer connection problem
Thanks, Steve. I had visited System Preferences multiple times and was concerned that 2 printers were listed - both my series printer. I deleted one of them and all is fine. Apparently, the printer recognized the second one but not the first, and the computer was trying to print from the first liste...
