Re: Charging a Fitbit

The moderator says, "....an approved USB charger with a 5.0V @ 1.0A output, it will work ..". My iphone charger says it is 5V @ 1.0A output which confirms your 5W comment. If I remember correctly, Watts equals Volts multiplied by Amps which matches 5V x 1A = 5W. So, it looks like the iphone charger ...

Charging a Fitbit

This is sort of Mac related as my Fitbit Alta HR syncs with my iPhone. The Alta comes with a USB connector on one end of the charging cable. I know, and have charged it by plugging it into the USB slot on my MacBook Pro. My question is: Can the Alta be charged (safely) by connecting the USB connecto...

Formatting a flash drive

I am confused about which formatting format to use in setting up a new flash drive. I am reading conflicting reports about using the MS-DOS (FAT) vs Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. I have some old flash drives that are formatted as MS-DOS(FAT) and they seem to work fine. I read an article where ...

Re: app won't open or quit

Try just physically turning off the power and then turning it back on. Just starting over sometimes helps when all else fails. I am not a techy, but this is what I have found works, in the past, as a last resort.

Re: Add a mailbox or folder

Thanks Ray. I suspected this might be the case. I do have a POP olypen account. If I remember correctly this is because of the way my wife and I share the account and how the messages remain/stay available for each of us to see/read them on our various devices. I will check with olypen if I decide t...

Add a mailbox or folder

I have an iPad Air 2 and running iOS 11.0.3. I have two e-mail accounts; icloud and olypen and I am using the Apple included Mail app. I want to add a mailbox, or folder, for saved messages within the olypen account. I go to Mailboxes>Edit and it shows a saved folded in the icloud account but only I...

Re: How to Open a Zip File

Thanks Richard. That did it. I thought I had done that and nothing happened, but it did this time. It created a folder on my desktop with the pictures in it.

How to Open a Zip File

How do I open a Zip file that contains photos? I am running Snow Leopard; is there an old program available for this OS?

On an older Mac, I had at one time, I thought the zip files unzipped automatically with some already installed program on the Mac. Is that possible and I am not seeing it now?
