Re: Maps

We went to the Apple Store in Tacoma and it was a wonderful adventure! The Apple genius said that plugging the phone in shorted the circuits, so it was unrepairable. Even if I hadn't plugged it in, the interior components would probably have corroded and shortened its life. He gave me a replacement ...

Re: Maps

Thanks for your quick response, Ray! We are going to the Mac Store at the Tacoma mall. My iPhone went for a swim in the washing machine (the whole heavy duty cycle) I have AppleCare, which we always purchase. The phone had droplets of water that I could see in the photo lens. I stuck it in rice over...

Maps

We want to go to a store in Tacoma, but we want to stop at the mall on the way. Is there a way to put stops along the route to your main destination similar to the route planner you can use in Mapquest? I can drop a pin along the route, but I can't figure out how to make a side trip off the main rou...

Increase disk space to install Sierra Postby BarbJ » Tue Oct 04, 2016 6:53 am I originally posted this to another section of the forum. I don't know if this is the same problem you had, but this is what I did: I tried to install Sierra without enough disk space, and the installer program told me I d...

Increase disk space to install Sierra

I tried to install Sierra without enough disk space, and the installer program told me I didn't have enough space and I would have to restart and try again. I restarted and it came up with the same message. I finally looked in the installer and chose my startup disk, restarted it, and it went back t...

Removing personal info from my Mac

I am going to sell a Mac computer. Is there a standard procedure that I would use to make sure the new owner does not have access to my past files? Could he get access after I remove them, if he used Time machine? Any suggestions for a quick way to delete my personal information in a way that the ne...

Library Donation

There was a motion tabled at the November 4th meeting to donate $200.00 to the library in appreciation for our use of the library meeting room every other month. I looked on the library website and found this listing of events hosted by the library. http://www.nols.org/events/port-angeles.html I was...

Re: Memory upgrade for iMac

Thanks Steve! Hope we did the right thing. We ordered the computer with 8 gb and we will order 32 to replace it from OWC. The OWC video makes it look easy to change the RAM in this computer. Thanks for the extra info as well.

Re: Memory upgrade for iMac

This is a related question about memory upgrades. I'm thinking of purchasing a new iMac. Why does 32 gb of ram cost more than twice the price of 16 gb? Why couldn't I just buy it with 16 gb and then add another 16 gb myself to save on the price of memory?
