Re: Upgrade Safari??

Biggest problem with all these older versions of browsers, is that they aren't updated for security fixes. If you are just surfing for casual use, it's one thing, but I'd be very cautious about doing any kind of banking online etc. The bad guys know the vulnerabilities by this time, can set the trap...

Re: Apple OSX update 10.9.5 - Key security update

Re: Median lifespan of consumer-grade hard drive is six year

Good article. Worth noting is that their evaluation was on 24x7 use. The variables for us consumers are that it's hard to extrapolate whether the power on and power off cycle effects life at all. Both on all the time and off and on cycles are hard on hard drives in different ways. Best to realize th...

Re: Macs Should Have Antivirus/Malware Protection

I've used Intego products for years, and they have always worked fine. No issues with the Mac OS (through all the various versions) and them. I've run the product on Mac laptops and desktops. The product is fast, unobtrusive. It actually found a virus that was on a Windows drive that I attached to t...

Re: Cannon In The Microsoft Store

yes, they're pretty late to the game, and haven't really got the momentum yet, if they ever will. Reminds me of the old Radio Shack Computer Stores that I started my computer career in, as opposed to the Computerland franchise. While there was a lot to like technically about the Radio Shack TRS80, M...
