CheckBook Pro & Quicken Essentials

This is a follow-up to my previous post "Upgrade and Quicken Essentials". I decided to make this a new topic in case other users of Quicken Essentials are wondering what they might want to do next. Ray's suggestion about CheckBook Pro has turned out to be an excellent one for my use.. I am now fully...

Re: Upgrade and Quicken Essentials

Report so far re my conversion to CheckBook Pro: I downloaded trial version and it took a while to get oriented - as expected. They have wonderful Help in the form of a long, well-organized and clear .pdf document. The support is wonderful. I had several questions and they were quickly and clearly a...

Re: Mac adware cleaner keeps appearing

Very good, Rick - thank you!
I'll do it this more thorough way if it reappears.
(I think/hope I got rid of it already.)

Re: Mac adware cleaner keeps appearing

Thanks so much, Stephen, Knowing what this is was empowering! In application folder I found 3 apps for this adware. I dragged them to trash and emptied the trash. According to the last paragraph of an article Erv found for me that should take care of it. Erv found this article: https://support.apple...

Recently after a trip I turned computer back on and encountered once again some very stubborn windows appearing - apparently related to Mac Adware Cleaner. To close these windows is tedious, they are very stubborn, red button doesn't respond until I ha...

Stephen,

Your answer to my 2nd question was very important. I thank you.

Thank you, Rick,

That is a valuable trick to get rid of that little window.

Re: Updates available install on restart?

Well, Stephen, I guess it means I cannot restart my computer without first checking app store. What if I shut down my computer? When I start up again does that tell updates to install? Related question: Are the updates available always related only to items already on my computer? e.g..: Might it gi...

Updates available install on restart?

A window showing "Updates Available" hangs out in right hand upper corner of my screen. Since it says "restart to install" - what happens if I restart for some other reason? Does it take the opportunity to install the updates available? I don't think so, but it seems to be what it says would happen....
